27 March, Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that Nepal and the Nepali people were committed to one-China policy, no matter which party was in power in the country.

In separate meetings with Chinese Vice-premier Wang Yang and Chief of the International Liaison Department of the Communist Party of China Song Tao in Beijing on Sunday, Prime Minister Dahal said the relations between the two countries had strengthened. Stating that Nepal and China have enjoyed strong geographical and cultural relations since ages, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the generous support of China to Nepal, according to the PM’s press advisor Govinda Acharya.

Noting that Nepal is now heading towards stability and prosperity after a protracted political transition, Prime Minister Dahal said the Nepali people wish to see the Chinese railway service extend from Lhasa to Lumbini via Kathmandu.

On the occasion, extending gratitude to Nepal’s commitment to one-China policy, Vice Premier Wang gave assurance that the support of China to the economic prosperity and development of Nepal would continue in the days ahead. He also expressed the confidence that all political parties in Nepal would work together to implement the new constitution and complete the peace process. RSS
