27 Nov, Kathmandu: Nepal faced a nine-wicket defeat to Pakistan in its first match under the ACC Women’s Asia Cup Cricket Championship held in Thailand today.

Nepal won the toss and opted to bat first in the match held at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) pitch in Bangkok. The Nepali women’s team could garner only 47 runs in the 18.1 overs of the allotted 20 overs, losing all its wickets.

Skipper Rubina Chhetri contributed 11 runs while other Nepali players could not even make runs in the double digit.

The Pakistani team easily hit the 48-run target in 10 overs at the loss of one wicket. Nepal will meet Sri Lanka on Monday. RSS
