23 Nov, Kathmandu: Nepal has been defeated by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by five runs in the match played today under the ICC Women Cricket Worldcup T-20 Asia Cup qualifiers underway in Thailand.

UAE which chose to bat first after winning the toss made 79 runs in the set 20 overs at the loss of seven wickets.

Nepal which was chasing a target of 80 runs made only 74 runs in the allotted 20 overs, losing nine wickets.
Ritu Kanaujiya collected the largest number of runs for Nepal. She made 22 runs including two fours.

The match was held at the cricket ground of the Asian Institute of Technology in Bangkok.

Nepal will play its fourth match against Malaysia on Friday.
