Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index that had been a bearish run last week witnessed improvement this week. The stock market, this week, closed at 1251.42 points with an increase of 30.72 points compared to the opening day.

Last week, it had been on the decline with 3.51 points at the last day compared to the first day. According to NEPSE, the stock market recorded transactions of some 13,922 units of shares of 128 companies worth around Rs 2.8 billion. This amount is more by 28.21 per cent compared to the previous week.

The sensitive index (Sensex) measuring the transactions of ‘A’ class companies touched 269.52 points with an increase of 6.89 points compared to the opening day. Nepal Investment Bank ( on the basis of transacted amount), Nabil Balance Fund-1 (on the basis of transacted number of shares) led the stock market that opened for five days this week. RSS
