20 Agust, Chitwan:

Nepali Congress (NC) senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel today said talks with the party president over sending ministers into the government have not held.

At a press conference organized by Nepal Press Union, Chitwan today, NC leader Poudel said the party president has not consulted him anymore on sending the names as ministers to the government. “There has not been any discussion on sending the ministers to the government,” he said.

Although the party took the decision in joining the CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal-led government, there has not been any discussion on the matter of who would be sent to the government.
Poudel said he was fully prepared to support NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba on the matter. “I am ready to support but the person seeking support should ask for this”, Poudel said.

On a different note, Poudel called for leaders to learn from Chinese and Russian examples as Nepal was lagging behind because the systems were not built and functional. “Our system is temporary, due to which we have been trailing behind since the last 70 years,” Poudel said.

In response to a question over recently held Nepal Student Union (NSU) General Convention, Poudel said candidates from his panel had clinched most of the posts apart from the posts of president and general secretaries.

He added that NC District Assembly to be held in Kathmandu from Sunday would prepare a draft of the local body restructuring and recommend it to the party which in turn would prepare party’s stance on the agenda. RSS
