19 April, Kathmandu: Chief Election Commissioner Dr Ayodhi Prasad Yadav has said it was pointless in doubting local level election, as the preparation for it was finalized.
During an interaction with the editors of the national media (print and online) in Lalitpur on Tuesday, CEC Yadav further said the printing of necessary ballot papers and voter’s ID cards has nearly been over. Similarly, election materials, including ballot boxes, were being supplied to the districts.
“It is natural that political parties agree and disagree on any issue in democracy,” he said, adding that the EC has been working cautiously for the election, and it would not be acceptable for the EC on the changes on the election.
Moreover, he said major players in the election are the political parties and EC’s role is just the managerial.
According to him, the media has played positive role in terms of coming election. EC hopes similar cooperation in the days ahead, he added. RSS
