Agni Prasad Sapkota24 Aug, Kathmandu: UCPN (Maoist) spokesperson Agni Prasad Sapkota has said that existence of Constituent Assembly (CA) poll-opposing political parties and group would collapse.

At a weekly journalist-spokesperson meet organized at the party headquarters today, Sapkota said attempts made to foil the CA election were not in the interests of the country and people. Sapkota said that the High-Level Political Committee exhibited maximum flexibility to bring the agitating parties on board but the talks failed to yield any fruit as the CPN-Maoist used the talks and dialogue as its strategic move.

The UCPN (Maoist) spokesperson also said that alternative to the CA election could not be imagined adding that the talks between the HLPC and agitating parties ended inconclusively as the later parties were not sincere. During the press meet, Sapkota also added that the CPN-Maoist has no capacity to foil the election and the anti-election move would be controlled if the government was committed to that end.

Stating that his party’s one-month election campaign has created environment for polls, Sapkota informed that the party’s central committee meeting scheduled for August 27 would unveil election plans in detail. He also said that the UCPN (Maoist) has forwarded all process and the task of election manifesto drafting has been completed while the names of candidates from all constituencies have been received at the central office.
