Chitwan: Bachan Karki and other members of Nepal Students’ Union, a student wing of Nepali Congress have been arrested here in Chitwan district on Sunday.
They were arrested after they forcibly tried to register the contract bid application after the scheduled time was over, said Deepak Kumar Thapa, Chief of Chitawan Police Office.
The contract was called for construction of a road worth Rs.4 million.
They were arrested in order to avoid any further tussle, said police.
Meanwhile, the supporter students are protesting against the arrest and have threatened to shut down school and colleges if those arrested were not released immediately.
