26 May, Bhaktapur: Nepal Workers and Peasants Party (NWPP) Chairman, Narayanman Bijukchhe, has said the formation of a new government in this hour (before the second-phase of local election) would be in violation of the election code of conduct.

Addressing a programme organised by Bhaktapur-based Iwamura Memorial Hospital in honour of the newly elected local representatives in the Bhaktapur Municipality, leader Bijukchhe accused the government of bringing policies and programmes for the upcoming fiscal year, in breach of the election code of conduct.

He made it clear that his party would not join a new government, but voice for the rights of the people by staying in the opposition.

Also speaking on the occasion, the newly-elected mayor of Bhaktapur Municipality, Sunil Prajapati, vowed to develop the town into a hub for education and health facilities by adorning its historic and cultural beauty.

Deputy Mayor Rajani Joshi and elected chairs of 10 wards in the Municipality pledged that they would work collectively to make the town prosperous.

Hospital management committee chair Dr Bishnu Bhakta Marikhu insisted that local representatives should also pay their attention to the expansion of quality healthcare facilities in the town. RSS
