22 Feb, Kathmandu: Nine opposition parties have decided to suggest the government not to forward the constitution amendment bill until the United Democratic Madhesi Front is guaranteed to accept the results in course of presenting the bill in parliament for a decision.

A meeting of the nine opposition parties held at the Legislature-Parliament Building at New Baneshwor today decided to ask the government for its clear view about the public statement of the UDMF leaders regarding the amendment bill, said CPN (UML) Vice-Chairman Bhim Rawal.

Rawal said, “We have not still got the clear answer about the view of the two big parties in the government in this regard.”

Saying that they have already welcomed the announcement of the election date by the government, he said that there is a constitutional provision that the Speaker has to send the issue of changing delineation of provinces to the provincial assembly.

The CPN (UML) Vice-Chairman said demanded clear view of the government and UDMF about the results after presenting the amendment bill as the decision. RSS
