2 August, Islamabad:

Pakistan Minister’s Adviser on National Security and Foreign Afffairs Sartaj Aziz today said he has received a proposal from India for a meeting between National Security Advisors of the two countries on August 23-24 in New Delhi.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Narenedra Modi had decided during a meeting in Ufa, Russia last month that their National Security Advisors will meet.

Aziz said Indian has proposed August 23 and 24 for the meeting and the agenda of the planned talks has also not been fixed yet.

During the meeting, the National Security Advisors are expected to discuss cross-border terrorism, bail for Mumbai terror attack mastermind Zaki-ur-Rehman Lahkhvi and other security issues of mutual concern.

Despite the two Premiers agreeing to re-start talks on bilateral issues during their meeting in Ufa, the recent Gurdaspur terror attack has increased tension between the two countries. PTI
