Kathmandu: Singer Badri Pangeni has been elected the chairperson of National Folk and Duet Song Academy Nepal.

The sixth general convention of the Academy elected 31-member working committee under the leadership of Pangeni for the next two years.

Ramesh BC, Ramji Khand, Subas KC and Chaulendra Poudel have been elected as senior vice-chairman, second vice-chairman, general secretary and deputy general secretary of the committee respectively.

Similarly, Pashupati Sharma has been elected as first vice-chairman, Rita Upadhyay as women vice-chairperson, Radhika Hamal as women secretary and Deepak Khadka as treasurer unanimously.

Shankar BC, Khuman Adhikari and Krishna Raule are secretaries and Tika Pun is joint-treasurer of the committee. Five members would be nominated later.
