The Parliamentary Development Committee study and inspection team has concluded that the existing road leading to Rasuwagadhi transit with China was feasible to enhance trade with the northern neighbour.

The team led by Committee Chair Rabindra Adhikari made an onsite inspection of the road from Galchi to Rasuwagadhi on Tuesday and Wednesday. The team has suggested to expand the road by 200 to 300 meters to facilitate two-way traffic.

MPs Janardan Dhakal, Ram Chandra Pokharel, Karna BK, Ram Kumar Bhattarai, Anita Devkota and Sarita Giri (Oli) are members of the team.

Talking to RSS, Chairperson Adhikari said the existing road is suitable and a double-lane road must be constructed along Syafrubesi-Mailung and across the bank of Betrawati river. The team also held discussions with local residents, local party representatives and business persons in Kalikasthan, Dhunche, Syafrubesi and Timure.
