A peace and goodwill rally was organised in Pokhara this morning with the slogan of “End Shutdown, Maintain Peace and Harmony.”
Representatives of different political parties, local clubs, businesspersons, tourism entrepreneurs and people from different walks of life were present in the rally organised by the Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The rally organised from Ghairapatan concluded after reaching at Manabadhikar chowk after going through different parts including Mahendrapool, Nayabazaar, Prithvi Chowk and New Road.
Participants in the rally had carried placards reading ‘Pokhara is open forever’, ‘Let’s find alternatives to strikes” and others.
Addressing the rally, President of Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Bindu Kumar Thapa, said that 99 per cent people have disliked shutdown programmme and added that all should unite to defy the programmes of shutdown and strike. RSS
