9 March ,Solukhumbu, People in Solukhumbu are fortunate to travel in a cheaper fare at a time when the recent increase of transportation cost has forced the public across the country to pay high for vehicular service.
Meanwhile, the bus service that has come into operation since last Friday has offered an opportunity for the public to travel from and to Solukhumbu and Kathmandu in a cheaper price. Earlier, there was a monopoly of jeep (light vehicle) on the route, which charges Rs 3,000 per person.
The Upper Sagarmatha Mid-Hill and Himal-Terai Bus Service Committee has fixed bus fare of Rs 1,500 per passenger on the route of Salleri-Kathmandu, which is 50 per cent less than the jeep fare.
The Committee said that each day a bus will operate its service from Sallaeri to Kathmandu and vice-versa.
