A meeting between Prime Minister and Nepali Congress (NC) President Sushil Koirala and CPN (UML) Chairperson KP Sharma Oli was held at the former’s official residence at Baluwatar in the capital city today noon.

The meeting centred on the talks regarding the formation of the new government and other contemporary issues.

Today’s meeting is learnt to be a part of series of meetings being held among the political parties following the call from the President Dr Ram Baran Yadav on 2 October for the selection of the new Prime Minister (PM).

CPN (UML) has already decided on its Chairperson as the candidate for the Prime Minister while the Central Committee meeting of the NC will reach a decision on the same on Thursday.

At the meeting, the two held the discussion about the formation of the national unity government under the leadership of Oli as per the ‘gentleman agreement’ reached among the four parties on June 8, according to Prakash Adhikari, the Press Coordinator of the PM Koirala.

The talks between the two top leaders was held in a positive manner, added Press Coordinator Adhikari. RSS
