23 May, Kathmandu: Tribhuvan Army Club has begun with a win in the first Prime Minister Cup Cricket tournament that began at TU Cricket ground in Kirtipur today.

In the inaugural match, TAC defeated eastern region by 9 wickets. Batting first after winning the toss, eastern region posted a meagre 103 runs on the board losing all its wickets in 32.3 overs.

In reply, NAC surpassed the total at the loss of just one wicket in the 18th over. Sagar Pun was the destroyer for NAC, who took five wickets while Sushan Bhari took 3 and Sompal Kami 2 wickets. Sagar was adjudged the man-of-the-match.

In the match to be held tomorrow, Nepal Police Club will face the far-western development region. The winner of the tournament will walk home with Rs. 2 million while the runner-up will bag Rs. 1 million. RSS
