24 May, Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has resigned from his post today.

In an address to the nation from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Prime Minister Prachanda announced his resignation with effect from today. He also announced that he would submit his resignation to the president immediately.

The Prime Minister said that he resigned from the post as per the understanding with the Nepali Congress, in the backdrop of a ‘long draught of morality’ in politics in Nepal for long.

Chairman of CPN (Maoist Centre) Prachanda was elected to the post of Prime Minister on August 4, 2016 with the support of different parties including Nepali Congress. RSS
