11 March, Pokhara: The touristic city Pokhara has been decorated ahead of the SAARC foreign ministerial level meeting scheduled for March 14-17.

Pokhara now seems like a newly-wedded bride after it was decorated with paintings and made neat and clean keeping in mind the high-profile meeting.

All necessary preparations including road repair and maintenance, paintings and sanitation campaign have been put in place on the eve of the meeting which is being held outside Kathmandu for the first time, said Western Regional Administrator Shanker Prasad Koirala.

A main management support committee headed by regional administrator Koirala and its 10 thematic committees are working on war footing level to make necessary preparation for the meeting which has been observed linking it with the peculiar identify of Pokhara.

The arrangement of health services required for distinguished guests and their transport management has been already in place beside other preparatory works, Deputy Regional Administrator Lok Raj Regmi.

Necessary preparation in regard to the meeting has been in the final stage and that Pokhara is awaiting the welcome of special guests, said Section Officer at Regional Administration Office, Rishiram Acharya.
