11 June, Pokhara: Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City’s newly elected mayor Man Bahadur GC has made an announcement to not participate in any programmes held to felicitate, honour and bid farewell to people’s representatives.
Inaugurating a chautari (a shelter) built by the Airport Block Development Organization at Pokhara – 7 on Saturday, GC said he was elected mayor because of the city residents’ respect coming from their inner souls.
“Your vote is the biggest honour that you can give me,” the mayor said, adding “I believe that everyone will lend me support in my determination to make a prosperous city rather than getting busy with felicitation and farewell programmes.”
He said the declaration was made in view of the impact on work when representatives participate in such programmes.
Mayor GC’s Personal Secretary, Laxman Timalsina, said that anyone wishing to congratulate the mayor could do so by meeting him at his office after 3 pm. RSS
