prachanda-and-baburam29 Sept-Kathmandu: Top leaders of the UCPN-Maoist and its breakaway faction CPN-Maoist held a meeting on Saturday when the date for the upcoming Constituent Assembly election is fast approaching.

 

UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, leader Dr Baburam Bhattarai and CPN-Maoist Chairman Mohan Baidya and Secretary Dev Gurung were present in the meeting that took place at a Buddhanagar-based home.

 

The meeting focused on the matters relating to the forthcoming CA election and the present political situation in the country.  The UCPN (Maoist) Chairman was learnt to have urged Baidya to participate in the election, indicating to the possibility of meddling in the election if the election date was postponed.

 

In response, CPN-Maoist Chairman Baidya said the party is unable to join the election in the present situation.

 

Leader Baidya reiterated the party’s demands for postponement of the election date, resignation of Chairman of Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi from the post of Chief Justice and formation of a new government with the participation of political parties. RSS
