12 Jan, Pokhara: Preparations for the 7th Pokhara festival to be held at Amarsingh ground from January 13 to 23 have been completed. The festival is being organised by the United Club Pokhara.

All necessary works leading up to the inauguration of the festival have been completed, said General Secretary of the Club Raju Shrestha. A total of 240 stalls will be showcasing various products and information at the festival.

Finance Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara is scheduled to inaugurate the festival organised with the objective of promoting local art, culture and products.

Exhibition of various local arts and culture, industrial products, handicrafts and information technology will be held at the festival.

The festival this yes also includes exhibition of blue bull, deer, a python, owl and other wild animals.
It may be noted that the Club is working to build an international zoo at Pachabhaiyan of Lekhnath, and has so far collected Rs. 2.5 million for it. Funds generated from the festival will also be used to invest in cleaning of the Seti river, in education, health and sports development in the region, added Shrestha.
