21 April, Nuwakot: United Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Nationalist Chairman, Dr Prakash Chandra Lohani, said a new party must be formed for reinstating the royal institution and Hinduism as state religion.

Addressing an extensive district level cadres’ assembly organized by the United RPP Nationalist Nuwakot at Bidur, Lohani termed the reinstatement of Hinduism as Nepal’s state religion a ‘mandatory step’ in order to uphold the identity of around 1.3 billion Hindus world over.

“Our party will launch a campaign for declaring Nepali land – where 94 per cent of population belongs to the Omkar family and are Hindu followers – a Hindu state by respecting all the religions along the way,” Lohani said.

“The country must become a Hindu state so as to put a cap on the ongoing religions’ trade in the land where Siddhartha Gautam attained enlightenment and where there are cities of temples,” he added.

Lohani established a new party following his disillusionment towards RPP’s unification. He said the party will raise the voice for reinstating the monarchy along with Hinduism. “The dissolved monarch must be revived to fend off the danger of disintegrating emanating from distrust among the ethnic groups, religions, geography and languages,” he said.

“The royal institution is not a problem for democracy, it can be adjusted within the periphery of the constitution,” Lohani insisted. RSS
