22 April, Kathmandu: Rights activists affiliated to various human rights organization in the country have appealed to the Adhikari couple to end their hunger strike today.

The Adhikari couple has been continuing the hunger strike for last 180 days demanding that the guilty involved in the murder of their son, Krishna Adhikari, of Fujel from Gorkha district, be brought to book.

At a press meet organized by the Civil Society at the National Human Rights Commission today, they said beginning of court process in the case was a positive move and urged the Adhikari couple to wait for justice by ending their fast-unto-death strike.

Right activists Sudip Pathak, Sushil Pyakurel, Kanakmani Dixit and Suresh Bhatta, among others, claimed that the court process in the Fujel incident was possible due to the pressure of the Adhikari couple and the rights activists.

It was Adhikari couple’s duties to break the hunger strike now and wait for justice and support the court proceedings, they added. RSS
