15 June, Rasuwa:The expenditure incurred on biodiversity conservation in mountainous region was made public amidst a program on Wednesday.

It was informed that the Buffer Zone Support Project and World Wildlife Fund had spent Rs 239.3 million during the last ten years,

WWF and Buffer Zone Support Project made spending for conserving bio-diversity including flora, fauna and wild species in the higher parts of Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Sindhupalchowk districts under the Langtang National Park.

Speaking at a public program attended by Chairperson of Langang-based National Park Buffer Zone Council Temba Nurpu Tamang, WWF Program Coordinator RB Rai shared that several programs undertaken as part of conservation efforts were tree plantation and protection, red panda and snow leopard preservation, community-based income generation program and climate resilient initiatives.
