supreme-court-nepal4 Oct-Kathmandu: The Supreme Court (SC) has directed the government not to implement its decision to recall the Nepali Ambassador in Qatar Maya Kumari Sharma.

 

A bench of Justice Prakash Wasti directed the government not to appoint new ambassador to Qatar until the issue was finalized on whether or not an interim order was required.

 

The SC has also directed both the sides to provide notice stating appropriate date for their presence for holding talks to reach a conclusion regarding the interim order.

 

Ambassador Sharma had filed a writ petition on Monday challenging the government decision to recall her from the post.

 

Office of the President, Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Ministry of Foreign Affairs are named as defendants in the writ petition.
