25 April, Kathmandu: The Supreme Court has ordered the government not to initiate any investigation on Deputy Inspector f General of Nepal Police, Nawaraj Silwal, till the writ petition on him was finalized.

A full bench of Justices Jagdish Sharma Poudel, Ishwori Prasad Khatiwada and Tej Bahadur KC ordered the government not to carry out any kind of investigation on and nor suspend DIG Silwal thereby affecting the court activities.

The order bars the government from initiating probe, filing case and suspending DIG Silwal pertaining to the case of promotion to Inspector General of Police.

After the police took DIG Silwal under control for the investigation on Monday, the SC had issued order to release him from the detention. In the same case, the full bench issued the order today.

The government had begun investigation on DIG Silwal, alleging him of tampering the documents on promotion of DIG to IGP.

Advocates Harihar Dahal, Sambhu Thapa, Badri Bahadur Karki, Tulasi Bhatt, Hari Phuyal, Tikaram Bhattarai, Megraj Pokhrel and Purna Prasad Rajbansi are pleading on behalf of DIG Silwal. RSS
