26 April, Kathmandu: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that his party was in favour of making a high-powered local level for implementing their necessities on their own by making policy and programmes.

Deuba said that democracy would be strengthened if grassroots levels were made stronger.

Releasing the manifesto of party’s Local Level Election, 2074 in the capital city today, Deuba said that Nepal would become prosperous due to a strong democracy at the grassroots.

Saying that the demands of the local levels would not be noticed to the Singhadurbar, Deuba added that the local election would ensure the operation of the rights from the local levels.

He also said that talks were ongoing to create environment conducive to ensure participation of all political parties in the local level polls.

The NC’s manifesto is prepared based on the policy and programmes of 22 rights that the constitution has guaranteed to the local level.

The manifesto was prepared by a committee led by leader Mahesh Acharya.

On the occasion, Acharya said that the commitments mentioned in the manifesto would be fulfilled as the resolution. RSS
