4 Oct-Ratnanagar(Chitwan): The Tharu community in Chitwan district has objected over not making candidates from Tharu community for the election to the second Constituent Assembly (CA).
Chairman of the Tharu Kalyankarini Sabha, Chitwan, Bishram Mahato, expressed dissatisfaction over neglecting the people from the Tharu community by political parties.
However, some fringe parties have included Tharu representatives in CA election. Some Tharu leaders have filed their nominations from other parties due to this reason.
An active cadre of the Nepali Congress, Tikendra Chaudhary, has filed his nomination from another party.
Mahato blamed that Lalmani Chaudhary of Tharu community had won the first CA election from Chitwan Constituency No. 1 from the CPN (UML) but now the major political parties including the UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress, and CPN (UML) neglected the Tharu community.
A total of 25 political parties have filed nominations for direct election in Chitwan district and 14 people have filed their nominations as independent candidates. Surya Bahadur Praja of the Janajagaran Party filed his nomination from Chitwan-1 for the first time. RSS
