13 March,  Nuwakot,: A treaty memorial pillar is to be built at Uttargaya of Betrawati in Laharepauwa VDC of Rasuwa district to commemorate the end of the battle between Nepal and Tibet.

The Rasuwa Utthan Samaj Nepal is going to build the pillar at  Laharepauwa-1 and the Forest Consumers’ Community Committee of the same VDC is going to provide the land for the same, said secretary of the Forest Committee, Ram Kumar Thapa Magar.

Locals said construction of the pillar at Betrawati, which is known as historical as well as a religious site, would establish the importance of historical times, and attract domestic and foreign tourists.

Chairman of the Rasuwa Utthan Samaj Nepal, Ganesh Shrestha, said that collection of donations for building the pillar is underway.
