04 October, BARA: An unidentified gang has opened fired at CPN-UML candidate from Bara-4, Mohammud Alam, at Chainpur in the district and critically injured him on Friday morning.
He was shot at in his head, police said.
According to eye witnesses, one of the men drew a pistol, shot at Aalam in front of Chawasati Mill at Parwanipur, Bara and rode off on the motorcycle.
Alam has been rushed to Birgunj of neighbouring Parsa district for treatment. He has been admitted to the National Medical College Teaching Hospital in a critical state, police said.
Meanwhile, police have been investigating the incident.
