20 April, Kathmandu: Five political parties affiliated with the Madhesi Front have been united amid a programme here on Thursday.

With this, Mahantha Thakur-led TaMaLoPa, Rajendra Mahato-led Sadbhawana Party, Saratsingh Bhandari-led Rastriya Madhesh Samajwadi Party, Mahendra Raya-led Terai Madhesh Sadbhawana Party and Raj Kishor Yadav-led Madheshi Janadhikar Forum (Ganatantrik) have merged into Rastriya Janata Party (RaJaPa).

A five-member presidium has been formed for the RaJaPa, wich has chosen umbrella as its election symbol, according to the Front’s leader Raj Kishore Yadav. The RaJaPa now has 23 members.

Addressing the unification programme, Thakur announced that they will not contest in the election unless amendment is considered in the new constitution.
