The number of people coming with complaints of viral fever has been increasing at the District Hospital, Jiri, along with the beginning of the change in the weather.

The viral fever has communicated hard and fast in the district headquarters as well as 27 other VDCs in the district.

Meanwhile, reports of swine flu spreading is also rife in the district after the hospital authorities sent samples of two people for laboratory testing on suspicion of swine flu. We have sent samples to Kathmandu after observing symptoms as similar to swine flu, said Dr Ulav Budhathoki of the Jiri hospital.

The hospital has been presently receiving some 100 people every day, with more than one-third of them suffering from viral fever. And most of them are children and the elderly.

Continuous fever, cough and cold, sore throat, running nose and loss of appetite are symptoms of the viral fever patients. RSS
