31 Oct,Kathmandu, Chief Election Commissioner Nilkantha Upreti  has said the observers should impartially observe the polls so as to hold it in a free and fair manner.

At an  orientation programme organized here today for the national and district level observation groups for the CA election to be sent by the General Election Observation Committee Nepal (GEOC),  he said 74,000 observers are assigned on duty to hold the election in a credible manner.

Upreti also informed that the preparations for the election were already completed and some 215,000 staffs will be sent to the constituencies after Tihar festival and that efforts were on to reach the  voter ID right  in the hands of the voters in their homes.

Stating that time is challenging as some groups are out of the election but no one should deprive others of their rights, he said the state should  guarantee law and order.He urged to observe the election  properly as there  was the possibility of rigging after 12:00 noon  on the voting day.

 

GEOC Chairman Himalaya Shumsher Rana said the EC should pay attention on the  increasing incidents of violation of code of conduct.rof. Chiranjivi Khanal said observers and media have a key role in making election free and fair.GEOC will assign observers 55 in national level and 75 in district level. RSS
