The Koshitappu Wildlife Reserve has imposed a ban on fishing in Saptakoshi River and watershed region for three months. The decision would continue until mid-September.
Assistant Conservation Officer of the Koshitappu Wildlife Reserve Jholai Chaudhary said that the decision was taken as the rainy season was the breeding period of fish.
Aquatic Animal Protection Act, 2017 BS and its first amendment has also imposed a ban on fishing in some parts of the Saptakoshi River, Chaudhary added. RSS
