Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, stating that the government has taken note of the labourers’ issues, has reaffirmed his commitment to address the issues relating to them.

Talking to a team of representatives from the All Nepal Trade Union Federation in his official residence at Baluwatar in the capital today morning, PM Dahal reiterated that the incumbent government will leave no stone unturned to secure the welfare of the labourers and farmers.

Towards this end, PM Dahal also called for cooperation from all quarters, PM’s press advisor Govinda Acharya quoted Dahal as saying.

During the meeting, Federation chair Shalikram Jammarkattel brought to the notice of the PM that the Industrial Enterprises Act was not in favor of the labourers.

Furthermore, he urged PM Dahal to consider an amendment to the Act and to make the Labour Act Amendment Bill and Social Security Act, currently under consideration in the parliament, labourer–friendly.

Pressed for the issues during the meeting included incorporating National Labourer Commission in the new constitution, ensure proportional inclusiveness for the labourers and resolution of the transportation labourers’ issues.

Moreover, the visiting team drew the attention of the PM towards formulation of Regulations to regulate E-rickshaw and ensuring equal facilities to the employees working on a contract basis on par with the permanent government staffers. RSS
