7 Nov, Kathmandu: Three people were killed in separate road accidents in various places of the country in the last 24 hours.

In Sunsari district, a person died after his motorcycle was knocked down by a truck bearing the Indian registration number plate PB 05 Y 9929 at Bhokraha rural municipality -4 on Monday evening. The deceased is Ram Kumar Budhathoki of Bhokraha rural municipality-1, police said. Another person who was pillion riding on the motorcycle has been injured. He is Dilli Budhathoki from thye same place. He is undergoing treatment at the Neuro Hospital in Biratnagar. Police have impounded the truck driver and the truck for further investigation.

Similarly, in Chitwan district, an unidentified man of around 55 years was killed when a vehicle hit him at Tarkari Chowk, Khairahani municipality-1 in east Chitwan.

He was found lying on the road critically injured and died on the way to hospital in Bharatpur, the District Police Office, Chitwan said. It is assumed that the man was riding on a bicycle when the accident happened as a bicycle and a helmet was found lying at the accident site.

Meanwhile, in Nuwakot district, Sandip Bharati, 24, of Manahari in Makwanpur district died when an ambulance met with an accident at Bahrabise, Sundaradevi of Tadi rural municipality-4 in the district last night.

Bharati died on the spot when the ambulance with registration number plate Ba 16 Cha 897 operated by Kantipur Dental General Hospital, Naya Bazar, Kathmandu, fell some 50 metres from the road last night. The ambulance was going towards Kathmandu from Samundratar of Nuwakot.

It is stated that three people including Bharati were in the ambulance when it fell down. Locals and police reached the accident site immediately for rescue but the remaining two people travelling in the ambulance are said to be out of contact, according to the police. RSS
