7 Nov, Kathmandu: Nepal is to take part in the ACC U-19 Youth Asia Cup to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

A 20-member cricket team, comprising 15 players, playing the cricket tournament organised by the Asian Cricket Council, returned home Monday after playing three practice matches in Bangladesh in course of preparations for the Cup, technical analyst Raman Shiwakoti.

The squad includes captain Dipendra Singh Airee, Sandip Lamichhane, Asif Skheikh, Anil Kumar Saha, Sandip Sunuwar, Rohit Kumar Poudel, Kishore Mahato, Pranit Thapa Magar, Sahab Alam, Kamal Singh, Prakash KC , Jitendra Singh, Bhim Sarki and Rashid Khan.

Binod Das is the team main coach and Kalam Ali is the assistant trainer.

Under the tournament, the Nepali team will play its opening match with Bangladesh on coming November 11 and it will face India for the second match on November 12. Nepal and the host country Malaysia will be together for the final of the group match on November 14. Nepal is in the Group ‘A’ of the Cup chart. Nepal was qualified for playing the tournament by winning the title of ACC U-19 Eastern Region Championship held in Malaysia last month.
