26 Jan, Pokhara: The 6th Nepal Literature Festival is set to kick off in Pokhara on Friday (January 27).

Aimed to bring together people from different walks of life like analysts, artists and litterateurs, more than 85 representatives including from neighbouring India and Bhutan will participate in the four-day festival, said the programme coordinator Ajit Baral.

Apart from rocking audiences with various musical performances, various 17 books of different genres related to literature, art, movie and politics will be launched on the occasion, he said.

The festival is organised by Bookworm Foundation and Random Readers’ Society, a book discussion group committed to the promotion of Nepali arts, culture and literature.

Indian renowned writer Ramachandra Guha, novelist Durjoy Datta and poet Uday Prakash will participate, the organiser said.

Likewise, Nepalese novelists Dhruba Chandra Gautam, Khagendra Sangraula, Narayan Dhakal, Nayanraj Pandey, essayist Chaitanya Mishra and Editor-in-chief of Kantipur Daily Sudheer Sharma will also share the stage.

Similarly, litterateur Bairagi Kaila, senior journalists Harihar Birahi, Narayan Wagle, educationalist Kedar Bhakta Mathema and comedians Madan Krishna Shrestha and Hari Bamsha Acharya will partake.

The event will be inaugurated by reciting poem of Kabi Shiromani Lekhnath Poudyal by his niece Prabha Bhattarai, the organiser said. RSS
