Nepal defeated Malaysia by 8 wickets in its third match held under the U-19 ACC Premier League in Kuala Lampur today.

Batting first after winning the toss at the match held at the Bayuemas Oval, the hosts could muster only 75 runs after being all out in the 38th over.

Nepal’s Aarif Sheikh took 4 wickets by giving away just 18 runs in 10 overs to dismantle the opposition. Dipesh Shrestha and Dipendra Singh Airee took two wickets each.

In reply, Nepal surpassed the meager total in 14.4 overs at the loss of two wickets.

Ashish Dhami topscored for Nepal with 38 runs in 40 balls, including six 6s. Rajbir Singh scored 33 runs to register a second win for his team.

With the win, Nepal now stands in the second position in the points table after Afghanistan. Nepal lost to Afghanistan and defeated the UAE so far. Kuwait and Saudi Arabia are other teams competing in the event. RSS
