Former Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has stressed on the need to free the country of ‘extraneous pressure’.
Speaking in a press conference in Nepalgunj today, Bhattarai, who recently severed ties with the UCPN (Maoist), said that time has come to end the 200-year-old foreign interference while strengthening national integrity.
On the recent border ‘blockade’ by India, he said that the act of India to impose the ‘unofficial blockade’ on the border is inhuman and condemnable, while pointing out the need to go against such an act together.
On a different context, on his resignation as UCPN (Maoist) senior leader, Bhattarai clarified that he quit the Maoist with a purpose to drive the country towards economic development and prosperity post-constitution.
“The country needs a new political force now and that it will be formed soon,” he said, adding that suggestions, advices and participation of all are needed to such a move. RSS
