10 Nov. Kakadbhitta, Jhapa: Vice Chairman of the CPN-Maoist CP Gajurel has said the election boycott of the CA by his party will be peaceful.

At a press conference at Birtamod of Jhapa this morning, he said they would make the boycott peaceful even if the government resorts to suppression.
He accused the government of making efforts to push the country towards autocracy as the government says that it will arrest one who is engaged in election boycott.

We just tell the people not to go for voting but do not force them, he said, adding to boycott it is the peoples’ right. He urged the government not to resort to violence as it would push the country towards civil war.

Even if the Home Ministry makes arrests of our cadres, we will not raise arms and will not be underground, he said. Gajurel said the ten-day general strike starting tomorrow by the alliance led by his party will be peaceful and could be shortened from the situation of the first day.

A meeting of the 33-party alliance will be held today in Kathmandu and it will bring new concepts, he said. RSS
