24 April, Kathmandu: The Supreme Court has ordered the government to immediately release DIG of Nepal Police Nawaraj Silwal and present him before the court.

A single bench of Chief Justice Sushila Karki issued the order in response to the writ of habeas corpus filed on behalf of DIG Siwal, arguing that he was arrested illegally. The order has stated that DIG Silwal be released in presence of the Court registrar and senior advocate Shambhu Thapa, and presented before the court.

DIG Silwal was reportedly held from his home earlier today and taken to the Nepal Police Headquarters for investigation. RSS
