Many celebrities have become rich from acting, singing, composing, etc. But there are still some people who were rich before they became star. Lets look at such celebrities who didn’t need fame to become rich.
10. Robin Thicke ($15 million)
Robin Charles Thicke is an American-Canadian singer and songwriter. His father Alan Thicke, played the father in a family friendly sitcom ‘Growing Pains’ in the 1980s. Since then, Alan hasn’t quite stayed in the spotlight but still an icon in his native. Robin has made his living by creating provocative hit songs and music videos.
9. Paul Giamatti ($25 million)
Paul Edward Valentine Giamatti is an American actor. He began his career as a supporting actor in films in the 1990s like ‘Private Parts’, ‘The Truman Show’, ‘Man on the Moon’, etc. Paul, the son of Bart Giamatti, who was the commissioner of the National League and then the entire MLB for a brief time before his death. Paul’s inheritance and his acting career netted himself $25 million.
8. Psy ($25 million)
Park Jae-sang, also known as PSY, is a South Korean singer, songwriter, record producer and rapper. Psy broke the YouTube counter with his song ‘Gangnam Style’. But, he already had considerable amount of money before his hit song. Psy came from a very wealthy family from the Gangman district. His father was an executive for a manufacturer of semiconductors.
7. Adam Levine ($35 million)
Adam Noah Levine is an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and actor. Some of us might know him from the band ‘Maroon 5’ where he is the lead singer. Adam also came from a wealthy family. His father owned a chain of retail stores.
6. Chevy Chase ($50 million)
Cornelius Crane ‘Chevy’ Chase is an American comedian, actor and writer. The reason for him being rich before he became famous was also that he came from a rich family. His family members include a magazine editor, concert pianist, World War II admiral, artist, opera singer, etc. His father divorced his mother, Cathalene, and then remarried into another wealthy family.
5. Anderson Cooper ($100 million)
Anderson Hays Cooper is an American journalist, author and television personality. Anderson had millionaire grandparents. Through his wealthy connections, he got an internship with the CIA, which is almost impossible task without formal training unless you have a family with that much pull. Anderson later decided to get into journalism.
4. Taylor Swift ($105 million)
Taylor Swift is an American singer-songwriter and actress. Many of her songs have made it to the top of the charts in the music industry. Taylor’s father is a financial adviser, and his father and his grandfather and his great grandfather all were bank president. So, Taylor Swift comes from a wealthy family and already had plenty of amount in life before she became famous.
3. Miley Cyrus ($150 million)
Destiny Hope Cyrus, popularly known as Miley Ray Cyrus or simply Miley Cyrus is an American singer, songwriter and actress. Her father Billy Ray Cyrus was a country singer. After her father’s hit song ‘Achy Breaky Heart’, Billy made millions from his singing career which gave Miley good amount of wealth before she became famous.

Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, better known by her stage name Lady Gaga, is an American Singer, songwriter and actress. Gaga’s parents, though they were from a lower class family, made plenty of money living in the Upper West Side of Manhattan. They both were in the internet business which also allowed Gaga to get off to a good start.

Julia Scarlett Elizabeth Louis-Dreyfus is an American actress, comedienne and producer. She is known for her work in the comedy series ‘Seinfeld’, ‘The New Adventure of Old Christine’ and ‘Veep’. Before she made all this fortune from her acting career, she was still wealthy. Her father, William Louis-Dreyfus, is the chairman of an energy company which is worth billions.
