2 June, Kathmandu: The Singha Durbar Secretariat Reconstruction Committee has stepped up efforts to implement cleanliness measures on the premises of the central administrative headquarters.
Chief of Committee Girija Prasad Gorkhali said they have issued directives to the concerned canteen operators to dispose waste properly. The Committee has provided two color-coded recycling bins each to all 26 canteens for segregating waste, today’s THT reports.
The canteens and 50 government buildings, including 25 ministries, produced a truckload of trash daily. The Committee has also formed a monitoring and inspection team to regulate waste management, and can issue warning to canteens and government offices.
