22 April, Kathmandu: Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Kathmandu Chapter is gearing up for an election taking place on Sunday which will elect a new leadership.
The FNJ Chapter’s 10th Convention was held on Friday and the election for new leadership will take place on Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm, Chief Election Official Govinda Pokharel said.
The vote counting will start one hour after the election. The aspiring individuals are required to register their candidacy today for the election. Pokharel added that the final name list of the candidates will be published today.
He added that candidates’ registration for working committee will take place from 11 pm to 1 pm at the Chapter’s Office at Bhrikutimandap while for central and provincial councils registration will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm.
Shanta Ram Bidari and Ram Krishna Adhikari have already announced their candidacies for the new leadership. The convention which should have been completed by mid April was deferred due to dispute among the members. There are a total of 1350 voters in the FNJ Chapter. RSS
