Some 400 vehicles including passenger buses and transport carriers stranded due to the ongoing Banda in the Tarai have been escorted to safer destinations last night.

A total of 210 vehicles including 82 oil tanker and goods carrier trucks in the Biratnagar customs premises and other vehicles in and around the highway were escorted under security cover to their respective destination, according to District Police Office, Morang.

Likewise, vehicles that arrived in security escort from Sunsari were received at Nimuwa of the district and sent to their respective destination. Vehicles leaving for India were escorted up to the border point.

Another, 60 vehicles were stationed safely at the Biratnagar customs premises, police said. RSS
