22 June, Melamchi: Wireless internet and network connection is now available for free in Melamchi municipality.

Under the constituency special infrastructure programme, free Wi-Fi hotspots have been set up in 6 different locations of the municipality. The installation was made possible in collaboration with the Computer Association of Nepal (CAN).

‘Free WiFi’ was one of the major slogans of the May 14 local level elections, and the newly elected people’s representatives have lived up to their promises, said local resident Ramhari Dulal.

Meanwhile, city bus service has also begun from Wednesday in coordination with two local bus entrepreneurs committees—Ama Hyalmo and Helambu.

Considering the Ama Hyalmo buspark in Melamchi bazaar as the centre point, public bus service will be available from and to Shikharpur, Tipeni, Bhotechaur and Talaramang, according to executive officer of Melamchi municipality Purna Prasad Dulal.

Member of Parliament Sher Bahadur Tamang and Mayor of Melamchi municipality Damber Aryal jointly inaugurated the free WiFi and city bus service amid a function held here on Wednesday. RSS
