11 Sept, Kathmandu: A fund has been set up here in a bid to collect blood money to release Sthaneshwor Bhusal of Nawalparasi district from a jail in Saudi Arabia.

In view of the poor economic status of Bhusals’ family, the Migrants’ Nepali Coordination Committee formed by the Nepali migrant workers set up the fund donating Rs 10,000 from its side.

The account for the collection of money is opened at Global IME. Anyone living in the country and abroad can now donate at the account number 39010000409.

Bhusal has been languishing in Saudi jail for six years in a case of killing a Saudi person while riding. He is handed a life imprisonment.

As per the court order, Bhusal is obliged to pay Rs 4.5 million in blood money or else languish in jail throughout the life.

Information to this was shared at a press meet organized in Kathmandu on Sunday.

Bhusal has a 100-year old mother living a helpless life. Adding worries to her, Bhusal’s wife left the home, opting for second marriage after the husband was imprisoned in Saudi Arab. RSS
