The government has accepted the additional assistance of three billion 443 million 700 thousand rupees provided in grant by the German government for the reconstruction in the earthquake-affected areas.

The meeting of the Council of Ministers held at the Prime Minister’s Office in Singha Durbar today took this decision. The amount includes two billion 870 million rupees financial assistance and 573 million 700 thousand rupees equivalent of technical cooperation.

The Council of Ministers also decided to forward the ‘Procedures Related to Safe Collective Settlement – 2015’ to the Legislation Committee for discussion, Government spokesman and Minister for Information and Communication Technology, Sherdhan Rai said. The Procedures is for the development of collective safe settlements in the earthquake-affected areas.

The government has moved ahead the process of constructing around 50 collective settlement buildings in the quake-affected areas. The government spokesman said the related works are moved ahead by passing the Procedures immediately.

Likewise, the Council of Ministers’ meeting transferred Joint Secretary Chakra Bahadur Budha from the Office of the President to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ram Krishna Subedi from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Kamal Prasad Bhattarai from the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation to the Ministry of General Administration, Dandu Raj Ghimire from the Ministry of General Administration to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation and Rishiram Sharma from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
